Installing OpenJDK 10 on Ubuntu 18.04 AMD 64-bit. No instructions and no installation script.

Trying to install Eclipse IDE in Ubuntu 10.04 in AMD 64-bit system. Web search found the tarball. Downloaded it and extracted the jdk-10.0.1 directory. No install script. Checked the Oracle web-site for installation directions. Web-site said tar instruction would magically install application. Didn't. How to install?

If Oracle was serious about Linux they would have a JDK package.

If you have any issues installing java in ubuntu linux, you should ask at ubuntu forum.

I'm a long time Linux User and Java Developer. The best way to install Java at ubuntu is from the PPA Repository.
