Reg: migration to gateway connection from oracle to gateway server

Hi experts,


I have to create db link from oracle db to gateway mysql server, how can i create the db link.


I have addedd the listener entry from Gateway server to tnsnames.ora file in oracle db server, ,and tnsping is working fine.

after this i need to create the dblink to connect from oracle to mysql server db, but i dont' have username and password to create db link.


Any suggestions.

    Get the username and password credentials of the mysql server db account you want to login as to see the mysql objects, and use those credentials in your Oracle db link.

    If you mean you do not have the Oracle privileges to create a database link, then perhaps get your friendly DBA to grant you "create database link..." or you login as, say, system and "grant user you create database link;" and then login as you and create the db link.

    It describes each step of of the chain in using a db link. The article uses MS SQL as the example target, but it would be exactly the same for any other target database.
