Jim's away, so we'll try this:
@Christina Brashear-Oracle : can you help out? Thanks!
-
Thanks, @PhHein :)
Andre,
Please try these instructions to change your display name first: https://community.oracle.com/tech/apps-infra/kb/articles/26-change-my-display-name.
It may take 12-24 hours for the system to reset so that your name is displayed properly. If this does not solve the problem, please let us know.

Hi Christina,
as you can see from the screenshot, my display name is set to mandrel - already for a long, long time...
Nevertheless, I have done a "dummy"-change and see if that will take effect.
Will let you know the outcome.

Hi Christina,
as promised: as you can see it seemed to work in the end:
Thanks!

Hi Christina,
Although I changed my display name again (without these -x) it is not displayed correctly.
As you can see my display name is still shown as …-x, even when I changed it back a view weeks ago.
It’s also shown as such here.
However, as you can see, at the location where I can change it, it is (for weeks now) OK.
If there is a sync problem, kindly please correct it manually for me in the forum(s).
Thank you very much.

Hi André -
Thanks for making me aware that this is an issue. We're taking a look to troubleshoot and I will let you know what we find.

I have changed my profile name for display purposes, but it is not being retained.

Hello Christina,
are you still investigating this matter, are there already findings?
It seems I am not the only one with this problem...

Andre,
It looks like you have two accounts registered to the same e-mail address. The system may be getting confused between them.
Please try changing your display name again, this time reply back to me with what you changed it to.
Then do a full log out of the system. Click "log out," then log back in.
If it hasn't changed on this account please let me know and I'll follow up with IT.
Best,

Hi Jim,
changing my display name again: done.
I’m not aware that I have two accounts. However ,since I always login with my email why can this be a problem?

As you can see
the display name is still the "wrong"
Whats' next?
Thank you and regards

Andre,
What it looks like is that the profiles system (which is Oracle wide and not us), is getting confused by the two e-mail addresses in the system on two different accounts and is applying the changes to the older one.
I've escalated it to our Oracle IT team to see if we can get rid of the older account system-wide so you're you across the system.

It's likely that I also have two profiles with the same email address, also confusing the profiles system.
thank you
-
Andre,
Could you try it one more time please? We deleted the duplicate profile from the tech node. If it works on this node, I'll remove it on the other nodes.
Best,
Jim

You don't, at least not on this node. I only see the one.
Try one more time please and let me know where it gets stuck.
