Hi,

Oracle 8i is already out of support before even Windows 2008 server was available. So it is not supported. You can try without any support. Also it does not make sense to go with with out of support version of Oracle now unless it is for some business reasons. In that case go with older version of Windows.

Hello,

Oracle 8i is certified with Windows 2000 and is desupported since December 2006.

So you should consider to migrate to Oracle 11g.

I could install easily Oracle Client 11.1.0.7.0 on Windows Server 2008. Everytime the server pass
with success the checks of OUI.

About Oracle Server I'm not sure that the 11.1 is already certified with Windows Server 2008 but,
normally the 11.2 (when available) will be certified.

Best regards,
Jean-Valentin
