            HI..
            impdp user/pwd directory=impdir dumpfile=banks.dmp logfile=impdp.log
            You haven't mentioned full=y or remap_schema parameter.

              Hi,

I'm using datapump (impdp) so I think there is no requirement of defining 'full=y' or 'remap schema'

why do you think? what kind of impdp your doin.. eithe table.schema or full database..

without giving anything only with the dump file how will your import proceed..

you have to specify either schemas or full or table paramters.. better see impdp help=y and check the params..

                regards,

                  Hi,

Come on Sir, Due to think import dump package can understand implicitly what type of import we are performing, still @that stage we did not went through, where if we dream the things and it might have happened immediately still time is there, we need to provide some mandatory things.

                    Hi Pavan,

I just use the command to export a schema from a source database

                    expdp schema_name/pass directory=<dir name> dumpfile= dumpfile.dmp logfile=logfile_name.log

To import the schema dump, I use the following command

                    impdp schema_name/pass directory=<dir name> dumpfile= dumpfile.dmp logfile=logfile_name.log

And, When i tried to import the schema again, the error disappeared.

And pls tell me Is this also a way to take schema backup???

Thanks for your support. And please guide me if there is something further.

                          hi,

yes the method is correct.. use the keyword schemas for schema export

for furher please read oracle document
