You need a Windows client workstation available somewhere in your network, install the Peopletools onto there, have an Oracle client software with tnsnames.ora updated according to your database name and server ip address of your Peoplesoft VM database server.
Nicolas, could you specify what ports should I open or what additional config should be done to make the win-Peopletools successfully connect to the database? (except config in tsnnames.ora). Thank you.
What port are you talking about ?
WSL port for 3tier connection (no need Oracle client) ? WSL is not set by default on PSOVM, but you could activate it on the AppServer side, default port is 7000.
Otherwise, this is a 2tier connection (Oracle client needed), everything is set into tnsnames.ora file, including the Oracle port (1521).
