    APEX Email ACL Error

    679690
      Hi,

We are receiving the ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL) error, and after following the directions in the APEX Admin Guide we are still unable to send emails. The message above continues to display.

In our environment, we have our application on 1 server, and our database on another server. Is there a different email setup for when the application and database are on different servers?

      Additional questions we have:

      1. Which user needs access to send the email the parsing schema or APEX_PUBLIC_USER?
      2. What access within the database does the user need?
      3. If an ACL is required, can you point me to more detail instructions. What's provided in the Oracle APEX Admin guide is not correcting the problem.

We are on database Oracle 11g.

      Thanks,
      Keisha

What ACLs have been defined currently ?
          Execute
          SELECT * FROM DBA_NETWORK_ACL_PRIVILEGES
for a list of ACLs granted

            Keisha,

Login to database server and try to send mail from that server using telnet.

            See this link
            http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:255615160805#21531229621293
            for more info

If this is working fine then problem is with Oracle. By default Network services are disabled on Oracle 11g so you need to create ACL for it. See this link for more info

Or search "Configure APEX mail in Oracle 11g" in google :)

            Cheers,
            Hari
