          Hi,

          As described here : http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=323

          please open the boot.properties file from the following location:

          *"<DOMAIN_HOME>/servers/<Your_Server_Name>/security/boot.properties"*

          Then enter the clear text password there like following 2-lines as it is:

          <font color=maroon>
          username=weblogic
          password=weblogic
          </font>

          i m Assuming that your admin Server username is "weblogic" and password is also same. Please enter ur adminserver username & password there. Make sure that u dont have any extra space or extra line in above two lines.

          Restart your server after making these changes.

          .
          .
          Thanks

            Thanks for the reply,

            I had already tried this before posting in the forum. Please suggest some other workarounds as this is not working.

              Just to add some more details here which will help in diagnosing the problem. I deleted the boot.properties file and the command prompt asked me for the username and password. I provided the correct details but still the server could not start up. Here are the details from the log file:

                    Hello

                    What can I do if I get this error when I am trying to deploy my application on the default WLS?
                    I can't find anywhere the boot.properties file.
                    I've install JDeveloper on a Window Server 2003

                    Thank you in advance,
                    Angel

                      This is really confused error message.

                      Whatever underlying problem in starting the managed server, the weblogic server will though this error message.

                      I have enabled some debugs in this managed server, and I found my SSL configuration was incorrect, and once I corrected it this error went away and my managed server restarted properly.

                      Before this I tried the following:

                      - Placed boot.properties file in /servers/<managed server>/data/nodemanager/boot.properties NOT Solved

                      - Started the managed server from command prompt by supplying username and password NOT Solved

                      then I thought this is nothing to do username and password, and enabled some debugs and found some issues in my configuration.

                      Thanks!!
