I'm in search of a methodology to create a copy of a TDE-enabled database on a second host. EXPDP/IMPDP works but I can't get the system for long enough to get a relatively non-fuzzy copy.
I have created a key on the second database which is identical to the one on the first DB> The backup is not encryped. However I continue to get the ORA-19913 (unable to decrypt backup) and ORA-28365 (wallet is not open) messages. I attempted to create an auto-login wallet using orapki to no avail.
Does anyone have any clues or should I just byte the bullet and use expdp ?
There is no reason why RMAN DUPLICATE is not the best answer.
The problem with helping you is that there is so much information missing from your post.
1. Did you create a new wallet?
2. With the same passwords?
3. Did you open the wallet after startup?
4. What error messages did you receive (copy all of them don't post your impression of them)?
Please fill in all of the missing information such that someone reading this thread fully understands what you did, how you did it, etc.
Do not omit even the obvious like "startup" because from our standpoint it might be something you didn't do. How can we know?
****Bug 12927030: RMAN DUPLICATE WITH ENCRYPTED TABLESPACE FAILS WITH ERROR "ORA-28365: WALLET IS NOT OPEN****
this describes exactly what is happing the workaround is to try "targetless duplicate".
--targetless duplicate in rman
"Clone a Database With RMAN Without Connecting To Target Database [ID 732624.1]"
Check out following link that might help you to create duplicate database.
