Smartview connection urls

I am confused with the connection urls used in smartview
what is the difference between http://servername:13080/aps/SmartView and http://servername:13080/aps/APS.
I tried using them both and both of them seem to be working fine.
are they one and the same ?

    Also you can try

    http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/SmartView
    http://servername/hfmofficeprovider/hfmofficeprovider.aspx

    As far as they know they are the same, though you usually use /SmartView for using essbase with SmartView
    It ignores anything after the first /aps so in theory you could use http://<apsserver>:13080/aps/SmartViewIsTheRouteOfAllEvil

    Technically, it doesn't ignore the rest but rather, I believe it is mapped to default to the SmartView servlet in the last entry in the APS web.xml file. You can see also that both /APS and /SmartView are mapped to the SmartView servlet but /XMLA is mapped to the XMLA servlet and /JAPI is mapped to the JAPI (Java API) servlet.
        <!-- Mappings -->
        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_1">
            <servlet-name>JAPI</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/JAPI</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>

        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_2">
            <servlet-name>SmartView</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/SmartView</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>

        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_3">
            <servlet-name>XMLA</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/XMLA</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>

        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_4">
            <servlet-name>SmartView</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/APS</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>

        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_5">
            <servlet-name>JAPI</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/admin</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>

        <servlet-mapping id="ServletMapping_6">
            <servlet-name>SmartView</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>
