BPM Support and Maintenance

Hi All

I have recently got a call for an interview asking if i am interested in Oracle BPM support project in Australia. I need to know what all activities are involved in Oracle BPM Support Project?

Is it BPM Administration?? what are the roles and responsibilities are involved in the profile?

Anyone can please help?

When looking for support for an Oracle BPM 10g project, the requirements usually look something like this:

Installation and Maintenance of Environments
a. DEV
b. UAT
c. QA
d. PROD

Oracle BPM Project
a. Troubleshooting
b. Exception handling monitoring
c. Process Design
d. Logic
e. Integration with external resources

WebLogic Administration
a. Domain
b. Managed Server(s)
c. Cluster(s)
d. Understanding of log files and log file directory structure
e. Patching and Updates

BPM Administration
a. Manage BPM Applications and Engines using Process Administrator
b. Patching and Updates
c. Understanding of log files and log file directory structure
d. Ant tasks - automatic deployment
e. Project Versioning
f. Project deployments
g. BPM Participant , Role, and Group management

LDAP / Oracle Identity Management Suite
a. Oracle SSO
b. Oracle Internet Directory
c. Oracle Directory Integration and Provisioning

Database Administration
a. Database Administration including backups / restores.
b. Patching and Updates

OS Administration for both Linux and Windows environments
a. Memory and CPU usage
b. File System management and Disk Usage
c. Patching and Updates

PAPI
a. Maintenance and Script Modifications

Can you share a similar categorization and tasks in a development project??

But its a long list, I guess the roles of Installation and Maintenance of Environments, WebLogic Administration and OS Administration for both Linux and Windows environments are typical Sys Admin roles should be performed by a dedicated System Administrator.

Whereas Database Administration should be performed by dedicated DBA and LDAP / Oracle Identity Management Suite should be performed by OIM Admin.

So, we are left with only Oracle BPM Project, BPM Administration and PAPI for BPM Support project.

Do you think its reasonable to expect all these roles and responsibilities from a BPM Admin??

I am quite worried that if a BPM Support project consists all these activities, then its a killer job for the poor guy.

I may be wrong but whats your view on this Dan?

that list is list of tasks that come under a support and maintenance project, not responsibilities of one person.
