Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.
I'm planning to migrate EBS 188.8.131.52 from Solaris (sparc) 64bit to EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x86-64 and would like to know if I can do this in one move i.e. perform the migration and upgrade in one step or do I need to upgrade to R12 first and then migrate or migrate first and then upgrade.
I understand the migration and upgrade steps but have not seen any supporting documentation on combining them, has anyone done this?
thanks in advance
You can upgrade the application on the Solaris box to R12 then migrate the R12 application to Linux (since your target OS is Linux 64-bit, please note that you cannot migrate the 11i application as 64-bit OS is only certified as a database tier only for Oracle Apps 11i).
To upgrade 11i to R12, please refer to:

To migrate the database you can use export/import or transportable tablespaces -- Refer to these docs for details: Note: 454616.1 - Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using 10gR2 Note: 741818.1 - Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 Database Instances Using Oracle Database 11g Release 1
