    Drill Back Definition

      Hi All,

When drillback has been setup against an Essbase/Planning cube how is the definition stored? Is there a file kept within the application folder or is it magic ;o)?

      Thanks in advance.

          Hello,

          Unfortunately there is no magic.

The information for the drillback is stored inside of the Essbase application. There is a new section of the database that was created to contain/hold the drillable region information.

You can view the information either from EAS or MaxL.

          In EAS go:
          1. Sign into EAS
          2. Drill down to your Server > Application > Database
          3. Right click the Database and choose "Edit > Drill through Definitions"

The information is defined as the following:
          1. The Period / Category / Year for which the data was loaded
          2. FDM Application Name

          Hopefully that helps.

            Thanks that's good to know.

Do you know whether this can be exported/imported using MAXL? Also do you know which file this produces in the folder structure?

              Hi,

I carried on digging for some more information and found an addendum for MAXL and drill through commands. I hope someone finds this useful.
