    JVM crashed with Problematic frame: C  [libzip.so+0xbc53]

      Our production JVM (14.2-b01 mixed mode linux-x86 ) has been crashing daily recently.
      Below is the recent hotspot error on the x64 Linux host.
      I would really appreciate your feedback on the issue!

          The similar crash happens daily even after I have upgraded the JVM.
          Looks like this thread on the forum didn't got watched except me.

          Could someone please look at the issue and provide some feedback?

          The same issue happens on jdk6_b17.

              Crash is because of modifying the jar while enumerating it.

                There is no way that you are getting both a SIGSEGV and SIGBUS (per the other thread.)
                Which makes you suggestion as to the cause for everyone else suspect.

                    Myself I would find your cause and effect unlikely.

                    A more likely cause and effect is that you have a pointer bug and the behavior that results is a SIGBUS. With changes to the code or a different way of running it a SIGSEGV would result.

                    Pointer bugs and cause all sorts of unusual behavior.

                      Thanks and that should be the cause that another guru points out the same:
                      "Jar files under NFS got modified while running them".
                      Frequent crash is gone after disabling those NFS jar file.
