getting Oracle messages back in VB.Net (2008) Oracle 10g

      Hi guys,

I am a student programmer at Oregon Inst. of Technology. I am pretty new to combining Oracle with VB so bear with me here...

I am writing a catalog Database with a lean VB frontend. I have figured out how to communicate with the Database and I am currently experimenting with the OracleDataReader type and I have successfully gotten the program to interact with tables based on an entered SQL statement. I also have gotten the program to show Oracle errors.

How do I get it to show oracle output messages on a successful operation? (i.e.: 1 row updated)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I cannot figure it out.

(also please feel free to move the thread to the proper forum if this is not it.)

      Thanks for any response,
      Brian
