is there any way that java can touch windows registry?Yes and no; if you have a look at the Preferences class, you'll notice that those preferences have their
persistent counterparts stored in the registry (using MS windows). The Preferences class doesn't
allow you to alter any registry value not present in the preferences tree though.
This is a pretty nice api, I 've tried it and it works ok...
