Is it possible to write a program so that I can select printer trays.
For e.g for our reports I want first page to come of from tray 1 which has company headed stationery and for all other pages simple A4 sheets from tray 2.

Check out the new Java Print Service that is included in JDK Version 1.4. It's still in beta version but I think it will do what you want.

          http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/jps/index.html

          Hope that helps.

Follow this link for a suggestion if you are still using 1.3 or earlier.

I think even with Java Print Service i dont think we can select different printer trays for different pages. The class javax.print.attribute.standard.MediaTray can be added to the Doc object as an attribute. This will specify the tray in which the document has to be printed, but i dont think we can select different trays for different pages.
