Let me preface this by saying I currently do not have log4j enabled or the jar file on my system, so if I need it, please let me know.
What I'm trying to accomplish is in the event an exception occurs, specifically a SQLException, to be able to trap all my stored proc. variables into an object, maybe a tokenized one, if that's what I need, to see what input param values were sent.
Currently, I get something like
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
ORA-06512: at "USR_XIA.FORM_INSERTION", line 79
ORA-06512: at line 1
well, that helps a little, but I can't tell where in the SP or what col. or input value caused this.
Any ideas on how I could or should go about logging these extra values?
Or is it just a bad idea to try logging all those items anyway?
Appreciate any feedback on the subject.
Or, even for that matter, if I do need log4j, what all's necessary to enable it. I'm running Tomcat 4.1.3.
