In c:\Program Files\Java are both jre6 and jdk 1.6.0_21
Firefox has three plugsins for Java:
Java Deployment Tookkit 188.8.131.52 (disabled)
Java Deployment Tookkit 184.108.40.206 (disabled)
Java (TM) Platform SE6 U21 220.127.116.11 (enabled)
It is a bug in one of yesterday's microsoft updates - after the update on my XP Pro machine I'm getting this error on all java applets whether signed or unsigned.1 person found this helpful
One person is saying that they resolved the error by uninstalling java and reinstalling it.
After loading MS Updates on 14 October, applets from two quite different websites gave me a message that "the digital signature was generated with a trusted certificate but has expired". The certificate details included "Issuer CN=VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2001-4". Updating Java made no difference but uninstalling and reinstalling Java seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the info, groupboard.
