Communication between NHRT and JLT
Apr 13, 2009 8:52 AM
is it correct, that there is no possibility to communicate directly between NoHeapRealtimeThread and java.lang.Thread via WaitFree Queues (WaitFreeWriteQueue, WaitFreeReadQueue, ...) ?
There are some concerns regarding the different memory areas - especially in which memory area to safe the queue. So the only way to make this communication channel work, is NHRT -> RTT -> JLT !?

JLTs and NHRTs can only communicate via ImmortalMemory, so as long as the WFQ is in, and uses, immortal, then there is no problem. I have an exercise in a JavaOne Hands-On-lab that does just this.
