Why i am getting "start does not match any probes" error

      Hi,

I've installed DTrace Toolkit from "http://www.brendangregg.com/dtrace.html" and i gave necessary privileges to oracle user. After that i tried to run "iotop" from $dtracehome/iotop via by typing ./iotop in shell. But i encountered an error :

: probe description io:genunix::start does not match any probes

Another error, i tried to run another script then, i got same error again :

      $dtracehome/Net/./tcptop

dtrace: failed to compile script /dev/fd/11: line 42: probe description fbt:sockfs:sotpi_accept:entry does not match any probes

Another error, i tried to run another script related to cpu information then, i got same error again:

      [oracle@malatya]:/export/home/oracle/dt/Cpu> ./cpuwalk.d
      Sampling... Hit Ctrl-C to end.
dtrace: error on enabled probe ID 2 (ID 54826: profile:::profile-1000hz): invalid kernel access in action #4 at DIF offset 0
dtrace: error on enabled probe ID 2 (ID 54826: profile:::profile-1000hz): invalid kernel access in action #4 at DIF offset 0
dtrace: error on enabled probe ID 2 (ID 54826: profile:::profile-1000hz): invalid kernel access in action #4 at DIF offset 0

Why i am getting these errors, did i do an error while installing this toolkit. I obeyed installation guide, i am sure.

      Thanks for responses.

Have you managed to get any dtrace scripts to work? Any in /usr/demo/dtrace/? Does it work for any users? Have you confirmed the probe exists?

          $ pfexec dtrace -ln io:genunix::start
          ID PROVIDER MODULE FUNCTION NAME
          16737 io genunix default_physio start
          16738 io genunix bdev_strategy start
          16739 io genunix aphysio start

You may want to supply more details like extract from user_attr and OS release etc.
