Can you be more specific? You can use pkgrm to remove packages, and pkgadd to add more software.
Solaris is working just fine. Everything is ok. now since I open Solaris via VM Virtual box, the Solaris main page fills only half of the monitor. I can minimize/maximize the Virtual Box. But Solaris dimensions are fix and doesn't change. This leaves me a little room to open applications on Solaris. I had the same problems with my Ubuntu, by installing adds-on it was fixed. For Solaris I installed Guest additions, didnt help.
Once Solaris is up go to the top menu bar and click on System, Preferences and then display. From their try bumping up your resolution.
did that, didn't help.
I'd go back and check your guest extensions installation then. If they're ok then try on some Virtual Box forum.
