Could anyone pls. help me w/ instructions on how to approach debugging of this problem?:
I run a plan to provision the OS to an ALOM host. It finishes w/ success, yet, the target host does not boot, nothing happens, and I cannot find any errors in the output of the MA server.
I tried to run the plan "/com/sun/n1osp/untyped/Host-provision-status" to see status of provisioning but I get an error:
Error: The plan (or preflight) "/com/sun/n1osp/untyped/Host-provision-status" finished with 1 failed host(s). (017034)
Unable to find accessible variable in component referenced by substitution variable :[targetableComponent:target_host]. (040114)
Where do I go from here?
Step 3 fails to occur. I see the ping occur both in the log and doing a snoop, but then a telnet try into net mgmt. to reboot does not occur, trying to figure out why....
The sequence for Solaris is as follows:
The JET server/Solaris boot and install server is prepared for the target host.
The DHCP on OS provisioning sever is setup for the target host.
The target host is rebooted to boot over network using DHCP.
The target host broadcasts DHCP discover packets.
The DHCP server on OS provisioning server sends DHCP offer.
The target host broadcasts DHCP request packets.
The DHCP server on OS provisioning server sends DHCP ACK.
The target uses TFTP protocol to get the boot kernel from the JET server.
The target installs the OS by getting files over NFS from the JET server.
