Is the SNMP agent started? The SunMC agent will proxy the SNMP agent locally on the service processor for some information.
I agree: if you haven't, check showsnmp.
You may also want to run setsnmp disable, setsnmp enable and then try setting and enabling sunmc.
I also have this problem on our M9000. And I have set and enabled the SNMP then set and enable SunMC, but the Agent status is still "Enabled,Stopped". Please refer to below information and check what's wrong for me, thanks a lot.
XSCF> setsunmc disable
setsunmc: Agent disabled.
setsunmc: Note that this command will return before SunMC is completely disabled.
XSCF> setsnmp disable
setsnmp: Agent disabled.
XSCF> setsnmp enable
setsnmp: Agent enabled.
XSCF> setsunmc enable
setsunmc: Agent enabled.
setsunmc: Note that this command will return before SunMC is completely enabled.

Hi i still having exactly the same problem, I bringup the snmp and the sunmc in the service procesor. does anybody have resolved this issue? thanks a lot.
P.D. I offerd you my apologies for my terrible english.
i find this, maybe could help us.
pless if you applied this would reply if it works?
thanks a lot.
I just came across this thread and have encountered this issue before.
Check to see if a name server is set with a "shownameserver" - or use "setnameserver" to set one. Use the man pages for specific syntax use. ie "man setnameserver"
There is a requirement to have the nameserver set on the XSCF or the SunMC agent will not start.
Hope this helps,
