    create request failed /no privilege

      I have just setup a new sunmc 4.0 server on solaris 10 x86 in vmware. the install went fine and i can login to the console no problem however i cannot add any nodes or create any discoveries.

      my unix login "john" is in the /var/opt/SUNWsymon/cfg/esusers file and is a member of the esadm and esdomadm groups

      seems very simple to me. is there something i am forgetting? is there a log a should be looking at?

          Try also adding the user to the "esops" group within the /etc/group file.

          Users that need to effectively use the product and fine-tune its operations, need to be within the esops group.

          Let us know if it's still not working after that.

            I'm having a similar issue using root account.
            More interesting is when I try to use a non-root account, even the login process authenticate.
            # id -a smcadmin
            uid=679494(smcadmin) gid=1(other) groups=1000(esadm),1001(esdomadm),1002(esops)
            # cat /var/opt/SUNWsymon/cfg/esusers
            Any ideas?
