Solution was to correct libc.so.1 by booting into safe mode and mounting the system on /a then doing:
Then use "rm" to delete all the files EXCEPT the two files:
i.e. delete all files ending in large numbers like .219505, etc.
Then reboot into normal system and all was fine for me...

I have same problem on Sparc system (Solaris 10). Does anybody know how to fix it ? I can't change symbolic link for java

yes, I'm sure. After some checking I found out that I have different size and versions of /usr/lib/libc.so (I don't know why) in global zone (ufs) and non global zone(zfs). On global zone java works, on non global - not. I've stopped non global zone and copied libc.so. from global zone. Now on all zones java works without problems
