x86 Sol 10 06/06 Error when registering Solaris system, SWUP/Cacao

I had Solaris 10 01/06 for x86 running OK on my PC and registering was OK as well as sun update connection. (could apply patches)

After initial install of Sol 10 06/06 during registering process in the step after system idenfication (where you can see hostid, cpu etc) I get error "SWUP/Cacao" and it aborts. I can't use the update tool.
The CLI registration aborts with error when I trued that.

The behaviour was the same for another PC running Solaris Express10 04/06 for x86.

Does anyone had the same issue and solved it?

There is a bug open for this behaviour (#6444178).

It is currently at an early stage, so at the moment it's not publicly viewable.

Could you take a look in /var/cacao/instances/default/logs/cacao.0 and see if there's anything of interest there?

    Hi again.

Are you going through a web proxy to Sun on this host?

I'm having an identical problem. Same scenario, I have just reinstalled 6/06 on a system that previously had 1/06 and update connection was working fine.

    Hi all.

We are currently monitoring an issue with the Update Connection database at Sun, which is causing issues with new registrations, and Java JDBC exceptions.

We will update this forum when we have more information.

    Thanks for your patience.

I'm behind ADSL (NAT)-router, but no proxy.
    (And it worked with 1/06)

    Hi again.

Does the /etc/cacao/instances/default/modules file exist on your system?

    See reply 2.
It's large, and the last part is pasted there.
You can have the file, just tell me where to put it.

Apologies I mis-read the earlier reply.

Cna you try the following -

    1. stop cacao (command is "cacaoadm stop")
    2. remove the files in /var/scn/persistence
    3. then retry registration

    Hello,

I am watching this thread because I am having the same problem. I followed the suggestions in the last posting, but in vain. Same result: registration failed.

    Hello All,

    The following is helping albeit intermittently;

Use the following command to clear out the repository of badly
registered information on a problem host and then re-attempt your
    registration.

    # /usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/eraseCCRRepository

Let us know how you get on.
