I started kernel module development by following the 'dummy' example driver in "Device Driver Tutorial" book.
Following the building and installing steps, issued 'add_drv dummy' command. Here is the terminal output:
# add_drv dummy
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: dummy
Warning: Driver (dummy) successfully added to system but failed to attach
And here is the message from syslog:
Nov 4 10:52:32 bobcat dummy: [ID 513080 kern.notice] NOTICE: Inside _info
Nov 4 10:52:32 bobcat dummy: [ID 874762 kern.notice] NOTICE: Inside _init
Nov 4 10:52:32 bobcat unix: [ID 954099 kern.info] NOTICE: IRQ19 is being shared by drivers with different interrupt levels.
Nov 4 10:52:32 bobcat This may result in reduced system performance.
Can someone tell me what's going on here, and where do I go to find out information on ID 954099, and its possible causes?
