SQL Server adapter bug in 6.2?

Seems that the sql server adapter is trying to run the command "Test Server Connectivity" in the database but getting an "Invalid Syntax" error on the database side only. What I am trying to figure out is what is calling the connectivity test code and how do I make it either stop or use proper syntax? This is causing a denial of service like attack on a corporate critical application. Has anybody seen similar behavior and what was done to resolve.

I did see a reference to the same error on the wiki site with regards to DB2 (http://wikis.sun.com/display/JavaCAPS/Java+CAPS+5.1.3+Update+Release+4).

When the service first connects , it issues this command.

      Test Server Connectivity

      SQL Server responds with this:

      Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 1
      Incorrect syntax near 'Connectivity'.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated (and drinks on me if going to JavaOne)!
