        Could "jettison" not be configured?

          A thought.. .

          Is it possible that the clamav config file isn't readable by the user that's attempting to read it? That's the most common reason to get that error.

              A minor issue which may not be related and could just be a cut-paste error.. but I noticed that this is an extraneous space at the end of:

              spamfilter1_config_file=/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/clamav.opt

              Regards,

              Shane.

                shaking fist!
                :P

                Thanks! that was it!

                I have never been caught by a space until now!

                Now i just need to figure out how to add a header when the email does not contain a virus and jettison'd when it does create a virus.

                  You are not the first and I'm sure you won't be the last ;)

                  You can achieve this by using the following config:

                  clamav.opt
                  ! ClamAV Settings
                  debug=1
                  host=127.0.0.1
                  port=3310
                  mode=3
                  verdict=CLEAN
                  option.dat
                  spamfilter1_config_file=/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/clamav.opt
                  spamfilter1_library=/opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/libclamav.so
                  spamfilter1_string_action=data:,require ["jettison"]; jettison;
                  spamfilter1_verdict_0=CLEAN
                  spamfilter1_action_0=data:,require ["addheader"];addheader "Virus-Test: False";
                  spamfilter1_optional=1
                  Regards,

                  Shane.

                    One last question, what if instead of jettisoning the email i wanted to copy it to a directory on the email server. I'm not talking out an enduser inbox.

                    Shane and Jay,

                    Thanks for all your help on this.

                    Karl

                      You can have the jettison'ed emails stored in it's own MTA channel as explained here:
