The thread was from quite some time. You mentioned that transparent proxy functionaliity was scheduled to be a part of one of the service packs. Have this happened yet? I cannot see it in the documentation nor i the admin GUI, but I might be looking in the wrong place.

Any plans when it can be supported? For certain use cases it's a critical functionality.

Update: we do have plans to support transparent proxying for HTTP/1.1 connections
I agree that having a transparent proxy would be a useful feature. This is one of the reasons we don't use this proxy server in our network.
transparent proxy (HTTP) with Squid on Solaris 10 is easy to configure and works. Now we set up solaris x86-64 box as transparent proxy. Just play around with IPFilter and Squid 2.7 from Sunfreeware.
