Hi all,

I connected to my pointbase server that the sun application server has using startcommander.sh.

Do you wish to create a new Database. (Yes (Y) or No (N))? [default: N]: N
Enter product to connect with: (Embedded (E) or Server (S))? [default: E]: S
Enter driver to use? [default: [com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver]:
Enter database URL? [default: [jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/sample]: jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost/BANK
Enter Username? [default: PBPUBLIC]:
Enter Password? [default: PBPUBLIC]:

Once I'm on the sql prompt, I can only do select statements. When I try to do update, delete, insert statements, I get this message:

SQL> UPDATE ACCOUNT SET BALANCE='7000.00' WHERE BALANCE='2000.00';
SQL>
SQL> Error Message: Invalid SQL statement at position 0.
SQL> Error SQLState: 30000
SQL> Error Code: 100

If I connect to the embedded sample database, it can do all the sql statements.

I am using the pointbase server that came with Application server. So it is a evaluation copy and it is a restricted version. I'm wondering if anyone had run into this problem before.

Thanks a bunch.
