Hi I`m beginning with all these technologies and don't know why my client application run perfectly when I download it from the server interface on the local machine, but never got it running on remote machines, It downloads a file when i click on "launch" button then runs the java web Start and then asks me if I allow a program to run, I say yes, and thats the end. No error message, no nothing.
Any Hint would be appreciated, I think I has to be some configuration issue but dont know where to look.
Edited:
I have enabled the access logging in order to see whats happening (I am 192.168.0.115 and 127.0.0.1)

but at the remote machine nothing is displayed..

EDITED 2ND:
I have deployed my app on a win 2003 server and could run the client from my slackware client. BUT the server was supposed to be Slackware, Now Im wondering if my question should be answered in LinuxQuestions rather than here.

Looks like the task you are trying to do, is to download jar files from a java web start (JWS) application, and I will assume that. After all, please use JWS forums

access log files states there was a request with a 304 response code. As per HTTP 1.1 it means:

    304 Not Modified

If the client has performed a conditional GET request and access is allowed, but the document has not been modified, the server SHOULD respond with this status code. The 304 response MUST NOT contain a message-body, and thus is always terminated by the first empty line after the header fields.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html

I adivise you to enable JWS logging/debugging at client side, to see what happens.

I have just figured out the problem!
    Linux Permissions!
everything under /opt/SUNWappserver/ was owned by root...
    SOLUTION: chown -R nobody /opt/SUNWappserver/domains
insecure but it`s for academic purose.
THANKS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO TRIED TO HELP
ALSO, there was an other problem ( I forgot to complete this post ) in this file:
    /opt/SUNWappserver/domains/domain1/config/sun-acc.xml
here you MUST set the IP address of the server, and in my case it came with the value "localhost". As you might be thinking, when java web start tries to reach the server resources in the client PC, they wont be available in "localhost".
I couldn find the solution in internet, so i hope it can help someone in future.
