How to send video and audio files in Java???

Suppose that we have two programs, a client and a server...
If the client sends a request to the server asking it to send a certain audio file (or video)... And then the server has to reply by sending that requested file... Our question is, how can it send that file???...
We tried to use InputStream method but didn't succeed...

Is there any suitable method that can be used????

I'm no java network i/o expert, but this could probably be as simple as opening up a socket on the server using the client's IP and port number, then writing to the Socket's output stream.

The client of course would have to be listening for incoming requests. A Sockets tutorial would probably help you.
