    Apex Listener License

This might be a trivial question but I cannot find a clear answer anywhere.

Is Apex Listener free if installed on a separate server ? Is the license included in Oracle 10g license ?

Is this also documented somewhere ? Unfortunately this Oracle product licensing is not very clear for many of us.

      Thanks, Timo

          Hello Timo,

although I didn't find any explicit licensing information for the APEX Listener, it is generally regarded as a part of APEX itself and thus licensed with APEX. This is implied by sevaral available documents, e.g. the [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/4-155207.html]new features listing or the [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex-listener/learnmore/index.html]learn more article for APEX 4.0. So it is included in a 10g license, as APEX 4.0 is.
Of course, there is now a APEX component that's not located in the database and whose location is not defined by any statement, as it is for Oracle HTTP Server. I would treat that as "no statement - no restriction". But I agree that a clear statement somewhere "among" the available documentation for the Listener would be helpful.

The current release, though it is marked as production, is not "feature complete" regarding the initial announcements. For example, an integrated pdf engine was announced, is already mentioned in the APEX 4.0 installation guide, but apparently is not available yet. Kris confirmed in {thread:id=1118695} that it will be part of a future release.
My guess is, that the documentation will be completed with a following release as well.

Sorry I can't be more help for that problem.
