Am trying to sync my calendar with Nokia N8 with the same settings as Nokia E51 (works fine on this phone). Keep getting error - "Invalid remote database". Tried "./calendar" and ./Calendar" and changed ports from 443 to 80. No luck on any of the combinations.
Would like to know if I need to change any settings on N8 to make it work.
Thanks and regards,
Hi mpaterso do you know the date of the next release to have support of N8 ?
I suppose that the problem is nokia side because Oracle Beehive calendar syncml works with nokia e51 but not with N8. Perhaps N8 does not implement syncml correctly ?
No solution yet. Not sure where the problem lies. Tried a couple of things but not getting what I want - Tried to configure using an auto-config file from Beehive. Phone says "system error" and did not even connect to the server. Tried manual configuration. Reached the server but got back "Invalid Remote Database".
Beehive has a set of device profiles which describe a device. By default Beehive only allows device models it knows about sync so the N8 as a new device is not listed in any of our device profiles and hence it is blocked from syncing. Nokia will normally show this as a system error.
We are looking to add a profile for the N8 to one of our first patchsets for Beehive 2.1. If we find this device will also work with Beehive 2.0 we will consider making the new profile available in a 2.0 patchset as well.
that about Synthesis syncml client for android ?
It is a client to sync local calendar, contact with a server:
from this page it seems to work with beehive.
Could you confirm that there is no profile setting on Oracle beehive to lock the syncronisation ?
Before to invest on N8 or a Android smartphone I would be sure that I can sync my mobile calendar with oracle beehive calendar.
Than you for your help.
Nokia N8 is not directly supported by goosync either but there is a workaround for goosync. That workaround is to use the profile for Nokia N97 on the server side. If choosing Nokia N97 as a device the Nokia N8 syncs
tremendously against goosync. So question is: can the same solution be used for beehive? If there is a sync profile for N97 ?

I am using Nokia E5, and facing the similar issue for the sync. But I have found a workaround.
You need to sync your Beehive Calendar with Google Calendar. Then sync your phone Calendar with Google Calendar.
Do let me know if you need more details. This is the best work around that I could figure out!
Thanks for the tip. Would appreciate the steps to sync Beehive to Google calendar. Is it possible to sync with Ovi Calendar? I use two devices - E51 (works with Beehive) to sync first with Beehive and then to Ovi. Then I use my N8 to sync with Ovi. Clumsy but works.
