I have installed oracle 10g on windows 7. but after installation when i tried to log in as sysdba from command prompt it says :ORA-12546 : TNS Permission denied error.
Why this error is here and how cani get rid of this..
Any helpwill be greatly apprciated.What is the version of database you are Installing. Oracle 10.2.0.1 Base release is not certified with windows 7.
Make sure you have valid software for your platform.

i m installing it on windows 7 ultimate...i found a link from youtube which shows how to install 10g on windows 7.
my oracle version is 10.1.0.2.0...i dont know how to solve this error..
...but i would say windows 7 and vista sucks..
As noted above, only 10.2.0.5 is certified/supported on Win 7 prof or higher (see the link to the thread I posted above). Another option would be to use a supported OS (eg Win XP Pro) or 11gR2 (instead of 10gR2).

What is your exact problem, and how does it relate to the TWO YEAR OLD thread?????
