    Importing Database

      hi,

      i have a backup file taken from a server running in Linux.

      when i try to import in a windows mechine it is showing error : IMP-00038: Could not convert to environment character set's handle

      DATABASE NLS PARAMETERS are set as the linux mechine.

      Can any body help me with this?

            Set environment variable NLS_LANG to the character set of the export file

              Did you ftp in binary mode? Have you try import remotely?

                DATABASE NLS PARAMETERS are set as the linux mechine.
                Look for NLS_LANG from your system where you are performing..

                IMP-00038: Could not convert to environment character set's handle
                Cause: Internal error.
                Action: Contact Worldwide Support. :(

                  do we need to change language setting in oracle ? to fix this problem ?
