the domain of a cookie controls which servers a cookie will be sent back to.
I think it is the cookie path which decides that.
no, it doesn't. the path controls the subset of urls for a given domain for which the cookie will be returned.
pretty much all of this is documented or linked from the javadoc:
- this describes the domain match algorithm.
- the rfc is linked in the javadoc, and it is pretty readable for an rfc. the Set-Cookie syntax section defines the Domain and Path properties.
