I am curious. Why do you not want users to approve from emails? It is a great functionality and users love it.
Are you having issues with the email approvals not reaching Oracle sporadically?
actually client is god, and managers dont want to give these actions to users because users will avoid going to the original document and will directly approve from email, and somehow they r not convinced, so we removed actions, bt links are still appearing, how do i remove them?
Even if you force the user to login to Oracle to approve, he/she won't open the document.
The user will go to the notification screen and click on approve.
What is the difference in that case?
What if you embed all the details about the document in the email message? Will that help you convince the client?
we are already live, and as i mentioned client wasnt convinced, they want users to go to oracle screen so that once they are at the screen they will open the document(i know no reasons why they will but believe me they are adamant to get what they said)
coming back to the issue, is it anyway possible to edit just the email notification part without imparting any changes to oracle notification.
Yes. You can certainly change just the Message in the workflow without changing anything else in the approval process. You need to do this using the Workflow Developer
Hope this helps,
If you are worried about just the email content you can also look at the option of customizing the mailer template. Workflow extracts the notification content and formats it with mailer template. The resulting content is send via email. I haven't tried extending this piece, but it is worth a try.
This is exactly what i was looking for, a method to edit email content and just email content, still confused, the item is "System: Mailer" but which message would be dealing with what i want, they all are just template where is the exact information getting captured?
This configuration is available in the following navigation. Workflow Administrator Web Applications > Oracle Applications Manager > Workflow Manager > Service Components > Workflow Notification Mailer > Edit > Advanced > Message Generation section > Templates. You can refer to the "Oracle Workflow Administrator's Guide" > "Modifying Your Message Templates" for more information.
Please note that this applies to ALL the outbound notifications, not specific for Purchasing notifications.
