Did you upgrade from SGD 4.41 or 4.5? Were your servers in an array? If so, then this maybe an issue we have had recently reported. Please open a support case via My Oracle Support
and we can assist further.
Thank you for the fast response.
No, it wasn't an update, it was a fresh install.
currently the customer has maintenance, so no support :-(
is there a list of known issues available somewhere?
in My Oracle Support you can search for known issues. As a partner you might have access.
Hi, I'm such a customer having this issue upgrading an array. The problem was, that the printers are not visible in the e.g WTS2008 session. I got this now fixed, so I now the fix. But my problem is, when I print on the Universal PDF printer or viewer, I get a TCC37.tmp instead of TCC37.pdf on the client, which my Acrobat Reader refuses to open. What is exactly your problem, could you describe in detail ?
My problem actually is that on a fresh SGD 4.6 install (single server, no array) PDF printers are not visible at all when connecting from a Windows XP or 7 computer. When connecting from a Mac (OS X 10.6) I can use PDF printer as well as viewer without any problems at all.
So I'm quiet sure I'm facing an SGD issue and not a Windows / TS configuration problem.
Please be aware of the following:
New Default PDF Printer Driver for Windows Applications
The default printer driver used for Portable Document Format (PDF) printing from Windows application servers is now HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS. This change was made to provide support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 application servers.
In previous releases, the default PDF printer driver was HP Color LaserJet 8500 PS. If you are upgrading from an installation that uses this printer driver, SGD is reconfigured automatically to use the new default printer driver. If you are upgrading from an installation where you have configured SGD to use a different printer driver, your existing configuration is preserved on upgrade. If you are using using Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, or Windows XP application servers, the new default printer driver results in the PDF printer not being mapped.
