    233600
      I download Oracle Database Firewall 5.0.0 Media Pack v1 for Linux x86 from edelivery, and I readed the document "Installation Guide Release 5.0 E18693-03".
      Then I installed oracle enterprise linux 5.4 x86, But I can't find the "Welcome to Enterprise Linux screen" when I login to linux.(page 18 on document)
      how to install database firewall 5.0?
      Thanks.

          If you have already installed and logging on to the first . Per my understanding the first log on will take some time , say 15 to 20 min .

            I have gotten the solution.
            1. You must have a empty machine
            2. boot from dbfw-installer-disc1-multi-5.0-114.iso or dbfw-installer-disc1-mgmtsvr-5.0-114.iso
            3. insert Enterprise-R5-U5-Server-i386-disc1.iso(must use cd not dvd)
            4.use the document.

              Hi!

              I want to install db firewall on virtual machine for testing purposes. Does anybody know where in the network (and how) should db firewall be installed? In documentation says that you don't have to change IP address of Database server, but I don't know where and how to install db firewall to protect statements (not just auditing). How should I setup networking between db and firewall and firewall and clients?

                You have to put the DBFW physically in-line between the clients and the database and you have to modify the routing table in the client so it can route to the database network using the DBFW as a gateway.

                  Hi Everyone!

                  I have just ONLY installed Oracle "DBFW"(on IP 192.168.1.1), "DBFW Management Server"(on IP 192.168.1.4) and "Oracle Database 11gR2"(on IP 192.168.1.5) all with default gateway "0.0.0.0" and installed on OEL 5 update 5. Then include Management Server info in admin console of DBFW under "System=>Management" page. From then whenever I logon to admin console of "DBFW" not "DBFW-MS" I am only able to see "System" tab on top bar and there is no other tab like "Dashboard", "Appliances", "Monitoring", "Reporting", "Archiving" although able to make some changes of DBFW from DBFW-MS console from "Appliances" page.

                  I have also just installed Analyzer utility on my Win XP machine.

                  Please clear my following points:

                  1. Why I am not able to see all tabs in DBFW console?
                  2. How to integrate Oracle Database with this Firewall setting?
                  3. Will user access DBFW or DBFW-MS or Database?
                  4. What will be the change in the TNS entries on client side?

                  Thanks in advance,
                  Karachi

                    Hi

                    The DB Firewall acts as a bridge when using in inline mode. You should not have to change anything on the Client nor on the DB Server. The Client, DB Firewall and DB Server are in the same IP Network but not "physically" connected. This mean's the DB Server is connected with the DB Firewall on one side and the Client with the DB Server on the other side.

                    I've configured a test environment with VMWare. To have to separated network I created a second host only network with the same IP range. DB Server and on Network Interface of the DBFW is in vmnet2 while Client, DBFirewall Console and second Network Interface is in vmnet1. When the DB Firewall or Bridge is switched off the client can not "see" the DB Server anymore. I've documented my Test Environment at http://www.oradba.ch/2011/04/oracle-database-firewall-test-environment/

                    I saw a test configuration from Oracle based on Virtualbox. There they used the internal network for the DB Server / DBFW NIC1 and the host only network for the client, DBFW Console and DBFW NIC2.

                    1. Why I am not able to see all tabs in DBFW console?
                    => no idea.
                    2. How to integrate Oracle Database with this Firewall setting?
                    => no change on the DB nor on the Client. Setup an enforcement Point to integrate it in the DBFirewal.
                    3. Will user access DBFW or DBFW-MS or Database?
                    => The do not have to access DBFW unless they want to see the console
                    4. What will be the change in the TNS entries on client side?
                    => no change

                    Cheers
                    Stefan

                      Although the question was posted in May, I just wanted to give an answer to question 1, because at the beginning I also wondered why the tabs were not visible.

                      This seems to be intended, because when you connect the firewall with the management server the status of the firewall turns into managed. And in the documentation there is an overview of the tabs that are available for the three different types (Standalone, Managed, Management Server).
