    Break line - Interactive report

    691822
      Hi,

      The interactive report does not show the ||utl_tcp.crlf||, is there a way to make this line break shown on interactive report? is there any thing I can use to break line will be shown in IR?

      thanks,
      Fadi.

          Hi,

          just use a <br> tag: || '<br>' ||

          where do you want to use it? Inside the header or inside the data?

          Tobias

            INSIDE DATA, WHAT SHOULD I USE?

              You can use the <br> logic and as column type: Standard Report Column (inside the report attributes of your IR)

              example:
              select 'test'||'<br>'||'123' as col1 from dual

                what i meant that the data will be inserted in db table with the ||utl_tcp.crlf|| or any line break and when displayed in IR column should be shown as line break.

                I want IR to render the line break as it it.

                thanks.

                  Try something like this then:
                  select replace(col1,CHR( 10 ),'<br>') from your_table;

                    Thanks for that but it didn't work, any suggestion?

                      Maybe your data contains CR's ( CHR(13) )or CRLF's ( CHR(13)||CR(10) ) in addition to LF's ( CHR(10) )

                      Try modifying the SQL query clause for the column to
                      REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(<column name>,'<br/>'),CHR(10),'<br/>'),CHR(13),'<br/>')
                      and choose Display Type as "*Standard Report Column*"

                        thanks Vee and Tobias.

                        The trick was standard report column! Keep the query as above (select replace(col1,CHR( 10 ),'<br>') from your_table;)

                          This good and all until you try exporting to CSV and see a bunch of <br> in your data. :(

                          Going to continue searching to see if there is another option... would like to get line breaks (char 10) working so it's nice in exports but interactive report columns dont allow for CSS formatting either.

                              Paul,
                              Watch out telling folks NOT to post to old, ancient threads.. Some people here will get their knickers in a twist when presented wit this fact.. Some people just do NOT get it, do they?

                              Thank you,

                                Paul does so politely. Others could take a few lessons from him. :)

                                  For someone who knows diddly squat about APEX, you certainly trot around here like someone who has helped QUITE a few people... Take a peek at the folks that I have helped in the past 5+ years..

                                  Also, you couldn't hold Paul's keyboard with the knowledge he has FORGOTTEN about Oracle and APEX...

                                  I know I will make sure that if your ID EVER asks another question, I will certainly steer clear of your sorry arse..

                                  Suggestion, take up crochet and leave the APEX development to adults...

                                  Thank you,

                                    Tony,

                                    Your use of caps is very annoying - you come off as a ranting lunatic in some of your posts. Hell even Hillary just made a comment on your other thread that she can read what you are saying just fine with out them.

                                    We are all super happy that you continue to use your free time to help - but you are not perfect either. You rarely post your Apex version when asking a question - you are kindly asked for the version instead of berated. So cut the new people some slack. That or take a vacation.
