    DAC - FlatFileConnection.

    526620
      Hello Experts,

I am doing first time installation of OBIA. At the ETL run I am facing problem.
I followed Gerard Nico's installation documents and the installation/configuration went smooth.

At the time of ETL run one of the DATASOURCE parameter got created is FlatFileConnection. As per the installation notes i selected ORA_R1211_Flatfile value. But my only source is Oracle Apps R12.1.1.

I am getting an error in the Informatica session log of FlatFileConnection as
CMN_1077 Lookup table not found in the database.
      DBG_21524 Transform : LKP_W_PARAM_G_Get_ETL_PROC_WID
      DBG_21313 Lookup table : W_PARAM_G

BUT the look up table W_PARAM_G exists in the database.

Can anyone help me how to resolve this issue.

I can elaborate further if required.

      Informatica: version=8.6.0; HotFixNumber=4
      Dac Build AN 10.1.3.4.1.20090415.0146

      regards,

          Hi,

I am not certain how this is related to the flatfileconnection. The table W_PARAM_G is located in the warehouse. As such, I would validate:

          - The value of the Execution Plan parameter 'DBConnection_OLAP': this should be 'DataWarehouse' in the DAC (= Execute screen)
          - The connection settings / credentials of the Physical Data Source 'DataWarehouse' in the DAC (= Setup screen)
          - The connection settings / credentials of the Relational Connection 'DataWarehouse' in the Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Manager

Also, in the beginning of the session log file, it says which databases it is using. For example:

'READER_1_1_1> DBG_21438 Reader: Source is [PSFTPRD], user [XX]'
'WRITER_1_*_1> WRT_8148 Writer: Target is database [DataWarehouse], user [XXXXX], bulk mode [N/A]'

Please validate if both TNS Entry and schema-name are correct.

          Good luck!

            Hi Marco,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
The connection setting are ok. the content of the session log file are as follows:
What i can make out from the session log file is "Lookup table : W_PARAM_G not found" but the table exists under the schema mentioned in the log file.

Any clue in resolving this will be apprteciated.

              Hi,

The only discrepancy I see is that in the SiebelUnicodeDB parameter, you have set the warehouse schema/user to either 'OBIEE' or 'OBIA_DWH' (don't know which one ;) ):

              [SiebelUnicodeDB,obiee@kchjsora06.kpit.com obia_dwh@D-3381.kpit.com]

and in the session log, I can see that Informatica is connecting to a database named demo, with the user 'DWH_REP':

MAPPING> DBG_21075 Connecting to database [demo], user [dwh_rep]

In what schema did you deploy the warehouse tables?

              Regards,
              Marco Siliakus

                Hello Marco,

The warehouse tables are deployed in dwh_rep schema. I changed the SiebelUnicodeDB property schema to dwh_rep. Still same issue, Lookup table is not found in the database.

Secondly the DAC log file shows an error that the FLAT FILE is not currently existing directory.

Sorry for the log DAC log file.

                Regards,

                  Hi,

Can you try hard-coding the connection in the session settings to DataWarehouse and see what happens?

Go to Workflow Manager, open the folder SILOS, the workflow SIL_InsertRowInRunTable and double click the session icon. In the Mapping tab, in the left pane you can select 'connections'. Please change the value for the LKP operator to 'DataWarehouse'.

                  Please run it again.

                  Good luck!

                    Hello,

In workflow manager i am finding the connection fields are not editable.

                    Am i missing something?

                    best regards,

                    ~ Ash

Hi ,Before you edit any Informatica object,In the Workflow Manager--> Task Developer, Check out your session --> Edit the connections -->then Check In the changes.

                      Also Please verify the following
                      1. Check the connect string of the lookup table and verify if the parameter values($Target,$DBConnection_OLAP) are getting passed correctly from DAC
--Refer the parameter file which dac creates to pass the parameter values into Informatica
                      2. Verify if all the tables in your dw schema dwh_rep@demo have public synonyms created
                      3. Make sure you have set the custom property overrideMpltVarWithMapVar in your Informatica Integration Service
                      4. As suggested by Marco, manually test by hard coding the connection names and running the workflow manually

                      ref:
MAPPING> DBG_21075 Connecting to database [demo], user [dwh_rep]
                      MAPPING> CMN_1761 Timestamp Event: [Wed Mar 09 16:02:53 2011]

                      MAPPING> DBG_21524 Transform : LKP_W_PARAM_G_Get_ETL_PROC_WID

                      Hope this helps

                        Hello,

                        1. I was able to hardcode the connection in Informatica, thanks for your tips.
                        2. Created public synonyms
                        3. Custom property overrideMpltVarWithMapVar already exists

When tried to run the Workflow manually it failed with same error as..
MAPPING> CMN_1077 Lookup table not found in the database.
                        MAPPING> DBG_21524 Transform : LKP_W_PARAM_G_Get_ETL_PROC_WID
                        MAPPING> DBG_21313 Lookup table : W_PARAM_G

I have not installed any DAC patch, Whether this could be the reason?

                        Regards,

                          Hi,

If this is the result of hard-coding the connection information to 'DataWarehouse', the connection information entered in the relational connection 'DataWarehouse' does not equal the TNS/Schema combination in which you have created the warehouse tables.

Could you please validate this again?

                          Regards,
                          Marco Siliakus

                            Hi Marcos,

You are right. Appreciate your diagnosing ability.

I tried with a new connection in Informatica the WorkFlow succeeded.
And also in DAC earlier all tasks use to fail, now i can see some tasks have succeeded.

                            Thank you for your help.

I had also the same problem. Here is what I have done:
                                http://gerardnico.com/wiki/obia/installation_7961#w_param_g_-lookuptable_not_found_in_the_database

A very strange behaviour and as I'm not a PowerCenter specialist, I ask me why the schema is not set to the user after the oracle connection ?

                                Cheers
                                Nico
