a.) It can take quite a while to copy the data to the remote hosts, but at least you should be able to see the filesystem shrinking on the remote host (df -k) or should see new data under the $ORACLE_HOME.
b.) But I suspect you will see nothing "growing" on the remote host. In this case please check your firewall setting...
If this is a windows guest please check the virusscan software you are using.
Thanks Sebastian! This is virtual 2-node RAC and both the VMs are on same ESX server sharing common data store. So no firewalls in middle. Also ssh connectivity is set correctly. It has been 3 hours and i can't see anything (binaries) under grid folder on remote host. If you have installed 11g RAC, how long it took for you? Also this is RHEL 5 Update 6 64 bit guest.

I did 11g grid installation and its very slow in remote copying I feel you should give it some time and better to check file system shrinking as said in earlier post and also check the oracle home folder size using 'du -sm /u01/app/11.2.0/grid' if its increasing then you don't need to worry sit back and let it be completed.
I am building a similar system as to yours and I'm hitting the same wall. It stops at 65% "Copying Oracle Home..."
Nothing seems to be being copied to the second node?
Wondering if you found out the cause?
It takes some time to copy files. In my case it took around 4 hours. Can you see adding folders to remote host?
No nothing was being copied, the /u01/app/11.2.0/grid directory was empty and nothing was adding to the log or err files.
Actually I found/resolved the problem and forgot about this post.
It happens that in staging my server, iptables was enabled which stopped the progress.
I had to issue 'service iptables stop' and 'chkconfig iptables off' AND REBOOT ALL NODES.
Simply stopping the service allowed the installer to continue, but eventually the root.sh script has problems. Rebooting both nodes resolved the issue.
I met this problem when install O11G R2 too.
I'll follow your guide to solve it.
So much thanks.
can I know what your system hardware spec for RAC?
I faced it too...
when I install 11gR2 RAC in two cpu with intel E5400, RAM 2GB, and 100MB NIC it stuck in 65% I've waiting the system for 5 hours and nothing happen.
I think it's because my networking speed and my hardware limitation so I change RAC using 10gR2 and it's done... :)
