    DOES Report BUILDER 11g WORK on Windows 7 (64 bit) **RESOLVED**

    b8s
      ORIGINAL:

      Reports Builder does not open after install; cmd flashes but Builder does not open.

      I installed:
      Weblogic 10.3.3.0 (generic for 64 bit)

      Middleware Fusion 11g (11.1.1.3 - 64bit)
      --> installed 11.1.1.2
      ---> did not configure
      ---> applied patch 11.1.1.3
      ---> Set PATH = %WINDIR%;%WINDOR\System;%WINDOR%\System32
      ---> run C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\config.bat
      -----> configured successfully (including domain)

      Forms Launches- OK

      Report Builder - no error, dos window flashes quickly and nothing happens (message within cmd: "The Reports Builder is only supported on the Linux x86 and Windows x86 open ...")

      shortcut runs: C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\reports\bin\rwbuilder.bat

      RESOLUTION:

      Backup C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\bin\*rwbuilder.bat*

      Edit C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\bin\*rwbuilder.bat*
      (note: rwbuilder in instance and oracle_home should be the same)

      to your physical paths to rwbuilder.*bat* in instance and rwbuilder.*exe* in oracle_home

      example:
      call C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
      @echo on
      start C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\bin\rwbuilder.exe %*

      REMOVE THE GOTO END line from both .bat files

      Set compatibility in C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\bin\rwbuilder.exe to Run As Administrator

      Viola!!

      HTH -

            Hello

            Thank you for your posts, but I still seem to be stuck! Maybe you know, maybe not?

            My Reports Builder does not open after install; cmd flashes quickly, then it looks like Oracle Reports Developer is going to lauch
            as a window pops up immediately after cmd, sits there for a bit and then Oracle Reports Builder appears along
            the Taskbarbut, but really doesn't do anything after that.

            I am running on Windows 7 (64bit)
            As for as I know the pacthes have been applied because the Forms Builders Starts Fine.

            )

            Report Builder - Does not start
                                If click on the Report Builder on the Taskbar then the following error appears:
                                     "REP-50125 rwbuilder.config:java.lang.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION" and
                                     java.lang.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION

            shortcut runs: C:\oracle\middleware\fr_inst\config\reports\bin\rwbuilder.bat

            Both rwbuilder in instance and oracle_home rwbuilder.bat looks like (I have not altered these)

              In your RWBUIDER.bat and files, remove the line "REM GOTO END" so your file is similar to this:

              @echo off
              @echo INFO: The Reports Builder is only supported on the Linux x86 and Windows x86 operating systems, for further information, please refer

              to the Release Notes ...
              @echo Starting Reports 11g Builder...
              setlocal
              call C:\Oracle\Middleware\Instances\FRinst\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
              @echo on
              start C:\Oracle\Middleware\PFRD_Binaries\bin\rwbuilder.exe %*
              @echo off
              endlocal
              :end
              @echo on

                Oh - I did not see that you are also trying to run the .exe. Please run from Start\Programs... where you will find that Report Builder runs from .bat file (which calls the .exe)
