    R12 Oracle Login Page

    756803
      Hi,

I have installed R12 on OEL5 on stand alone PC.For one month the application ran properly without any problem with good speed while internet connection is 'OFF' (broad band connection).

Now a days I can't able to connect to oracle application login page while internet connection is 'OFF'.Database service run properly without any error with speed, while application services run very slow while internet connection is 'OFF'.

Now I have to switch 'ON' the internet connection (broad band) compulsory for proper working of oracle application with good speed.

Is there any setting to run application while internet connection is 'OFF'.

      Thanks
      Regards

What do you mean by turning the internet connection ON and OFF? Is it a service you start or a button you press or what exactly?

          Please elaborate more.

          Thanks,

What exactly becomes slow when you turn the internet ON?

Please post the entry you have in the hosts file along with the entries in FND_NODES table.

Also, post the contents of Apache log files when the internet is ON/OFF.

              Thanks,

Sorry, but I am a bit confused. The log file shows some errors when internet in OFF, so is this correct?

The log file shows an error when internet is OFF but you have no issues, right?

Have you verified the entries in FND_NODES table?

Could you please run AutoConfig when internet is ON, bounce the services and check then?

                      Thanks,

                        Hi,

                        Thanks.

The log file shows an error when internet is OFF at the same time login page gives error as below:

                        Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, ohs_admin@hnp.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I ran AutoConfig successfully on both tier but problem remains same.

I want to run application while internet connection is "OFF".
It's works ok while internet connection is "ON".

                        Thanks

Does the IP Address change when the internet is ON/OFF? If yes, which of the two IPs is an entry in FND_NODES table?

                          Thanks,
                          Hussein

                            Hi,

                            Thanks.

IP address remains same i.e 192.168.1.2 wether internet is ON/OFF in FND_NODES table.

                            Thanks,

                              Hi GSM,

I have some random guess, I m not sure much but it may work for you.

May be when your PC is connected to Internet, it is getting connected with Lan or something which works with network and you can use oracle apps

but when you disconnect it from Internet, local Lan or network settings got disabled and oracle applications doesnt startup....

So if it is your problem then you can try following option.

                              1) try to connect your system with any other pc via lan cable (one to one connection)

                              2) Loopback can be used for this (settings to configure apps on standalone system)

                              3) Install oracle VM box which will configure you lan settings for apps and may be it can work for you.

                              Thanks & Regards,

                                Thanks to all.

The problem is solved by removing the primary & secondary DNS in network configuration. Now it working with good speed while internet is “OFF”.
