I installed FDM 11.1.2 & Planning 11.1.2.
After config FDM (Adapter & Dimension Setting), I found no item from the period/Category/Year in control tables. Also, there is no error message found from FDM and Essbase.
How can I get connect to Essbase from FDM?
I already done following items
1. import and register "ES11X-G4-G.xml" and "upsES11XG4G.exe"
2. Add machine profile
3. Map FDM Dimension to Essbase Dimension.
Pls help !! Thanks
If you look in the Adaoter readme pdf all the necessary configuration steps are contained therein. This documentation can be found at the following link
Do you get an error in the period/category control table like "Unable to Retreive Target System Data"? If so, choose Tools > Clear Error Log. Then choose Metadata > Control Tables to return the error and choose Tools > View Error Log. What is the error message recorded in the log?
Siarhei Babich ,
I use default ESSBASE PATH and ARBORPATH. Do I need to change it? What value should I change?
I installed 32bit FDM in Windows 2003 Server.
The Essbase server is another sever which is 64bit in Windows 2008 Server.
Thanks! I setup the system variable in FDM server (32bit). the path value is copied from user variable. Then, Restart FDM server.
But I still found the same problem (empty list of period & category).
somehow, I restart FDM server again. I can upload data into Essbase but still found no period / category list from control tables.
There is no error message generated!
Is it normal that I cannot broswe the member name of Year/Period/Scenario dimensions from Control Tables?
In HFM, after setup the adapters, I can browse the member name of Year/Period/Scenario.

A) Login to the Application using the workbench client
B) Expand Target System Adapters and right-click on the Essbase Adapter and choose "configure"
C) Click on the Dimensions tab
D) In the left-pane scroll down to see the global dims "Period, Year, Category"
E) Click on each one and choose the corresponding dimension from the essbase outline from the drop down list to populate the Foreign Name field.
*Note: If you do not have a year dimension, uncheck the "user list" option on the Year Dimension.
