profile memory usage of java stored procedures
Apr 4, 2011 11:36 AM
How does one do a memory profile of java stored procedures? I would like to see where the memory usage is occurring. I have not been able to connect with either the JDeveloper profiler agent or jconsole so far.

It is necessary to call dbms_java.start_jmx_agent() in the session that is calling the java stored procedures. This allows you to connect to the session with jconsole and jvisualvm.
This is documented in Oracle® Database Java Developer's Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) -> Java Applications on Oracle Database -> Managing Your Applications using JMX.
