    How to change Oracle XE instance name

      As we've known, default Oracle XE instance name is XE,and how to change Oracle XE instance name,like DB01.xxxx.com.

          To clarify - do you want to change the SID or do you want to add a [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e10836/glossary.htm#NETAG1414]service name?

          The example you provided seem to hint of the latter. Also SID is limited in number of characters, commonly to max 8 characters. See about [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17120/create003.htm#i1008816]specifying SID. And I'm guessing there's no load balancing or so involved, so you wouldn't be worrying about instance_name.

          If you are after installing another XE instance on the same machine, then see previous discussions, such as {thread:id=2201481}.

          You could also search the {forum:id=251} forum (e.g. for change sid) for plenty of previous discussion on the topic.
